Celebrate Hogmanay at Glasgow’s premier outpost of hard-edged underground techno, with headliners Pussypower and Stevie McCole (aka actor Stephen McCole of Acid House fame. Weekly (not 24 & 31 Dec). Heskey and Big Al drop hip hop and R&B while Raw B and Euan McLeod play classics and hand out cash prizes at this student night. Eight hours of non-stop partying, featuring two rooms, eight DJs and a crackin’ mix of classics, re-edits and remixes of disco, nu-disco, Kraut-rock, house, breaks, electro and more. With DJs GK Machine, Billy Woods, Furious Breaks, Ben Gibson, Junior Otaman, B*licious, Clinical and Psycho D. This year the theme is 2010: A Space Oddity. ■ Cheap & Nasty at Nice’n’Sleazy. 11pm–3am. Erol Alkan, Aeroplane, Rex the Dog, Mark Moore, Sammy Jo, Den Haan, Fanklub Deejays and more play this New York themed Hogmanay electro party. ■ Fiasco New Year House Party at Mama San. 10pm–4am. £15 (£10 advance). 31 Dec. After last year’s successful party, Fiasco are back with another amazing New Year extravaganza. This time joining resident Ed Marco on the decks is Space resident Marcoloco (Ibiza Groove) with Craig Hamilton (Flatpack Trax) and Soulfunk City (Metro Soul). ■ Fun Size at La Cheetah. 10pm–4am. £5. 24 Dec. FUN! all the way, with Teamy (Wrong Island) and David Barbarossa (Curious Curious). One of the only non-regular nights to brave Christmas Eve, the pair will be welcoming Optimo’s JG Wilkes and dishing out Christmas goodie bags, although they warn that things might finish a little early if they just can’t wait for Santa. ■ Have a Party at Maggie May’s. 11pm–3am. £5. All things disco-house for Hogmanay, as residents Andrew Pirie and Simon Cordiner are joined by one of their favourite guests Greg Wilson, who’s also plugging his Credit to the Edit Vol 2 album.
