BEYOND BELIEF Re: Interview with Sum author David Eagleman ‘If you’re an atheist, that means you don’t think there is anything left that’s bigger than you, or anything more mysterious, there are no questions left to be answered, we’ve got it all figured out.’ Um, what? Just because you’re pretty sure that one particular answer is wrong doesn’t mean that you must therefore be sure of what answer is right, or that ‘we’ve got it all figured out.’ Ray Ingles Comment posted at List.co.uk
CALLEL-ED TO ACCOUNT Re: Callel Although I disagree with the reviewer's lukewarm opinion of Callel, he has every right to offer it – it's his job. However, if you're going to do a job, do it properly. I would like to introduce Mr Writer to a concept: research. To evidence this, two points need to be made:
1. The singer, who was so frillingly attired, is Craig Hughes. Arron [not Aaron] Cornall is the lead guitarist (but also sings rather a lot).
2. The band's MySpace
address is www.myspace.com/ callelMUSIC [not
LETTER OF THE FORTNIGHT PUBLIC HOLIDAY Re: Winter Warmers The Winter Warmers feature is interesting. As usual I am enraged by hotel adverts, which never mention how a non- driver gets there. The Lovat, Loch Ness as you say, offers a discount if you arrive on public transport. Does some bus stop company have a bus stop at the hotel? Or do they stop on request? And who are they and where do they start from? The Gardner, Glasgow
Dear Gardner, We took the liberty of calling The Lovat to find out the easiest way for you to travel. Get a Citylink bus from Glasgow to Fort William. When you get to Fort William change buses and head for Inverness. En route you will pass through Fort Augustus. There is only one bus stop in the village, so simply get off there, by the petrol station, and walk five minutes up the hill to the hotel. Hope this helps. The List

www.myspace.com/callel]. Notice the subtle difference? Well, if you don't, I'm sure Cae from the Philippines will because the page quoted above is his.
I would ask the reviewer to take a little more care. Checking his link, and viewing the page it is meant to lead to
would have given him all the information he needed to achieve another related concept: journalism. Maitiu Corbett, London Comment posted at List.co.uk Re: Callel Lets sweep aside this acrimony and celebrate and worship the
genius of . . . Cae from the Philippines. He loves Green Day, Adam Sandler movies and enjoys romantic walks in the park, plus he had super-fun- time at Calleloween! Currently he has no friends so I implore you all to add this man to your MySpace page and make this young Philippine our advocate for Callel in South East Asia. I'm sure the Callel guys will pen a short song for Cae in appreciation of his unwavering support. LewisC, Edinburgh Comment posted at List.co.uk
RAINING DOWN PRAISE Re: Rain Man Fantastic production with brilliant casting. Neil Morrissey and Oliver Chris gave very convincing and moving performances as Charlie and Raymond Babbitt. The simple but effective sets and superb supporting cast made this one of the best theatre events I have seen. Where The Wild Things Are After Wes Anderson hit furry gold with Fantastic Mr Fox, Spike Jonze is now looking to extend his impeccable indie film CV with an adaptation of a classic children’s book. With a script by Dave Eggers, soundtrack by Karen O and starring James Gandolfini and Catherine Keener, we love it already. Review of the decade Our look back on ten glorious years of Scottish culture, including our top film, music and books highlights, instances where we got it right, and a few cases where we got it very, very wrong.
