Celebrating Scotland’s contribution to the arts, food and drink, fashion and language, Queen Margaret University plays host to a unique two part event to end Scotland’s year of Homecoming, which includes:
SCOTTISH WORKSHOPS (FREE) (5.30pm – 7.30pm)
Edinburgh Academy Pipes and Drums, Poetry writing workshop, Make your own tartan workshop for kids, Scotland language quiz, East Lothian food and drink stand, Mrs Unis display – vegetarian haggis samosa, Scots drama performance, Belhaven Beer Masterclass, Glenkinchie whisky tasting sessions and Display of Nairn’s Oatcakes products to name but a few. Tickets not required – just come along and join in the fun.
DINNER, CEILIDH & FIREWORKS DISPLAY (7.30pm – 11.30pm) Don your glad rags and join us for an evening of feasting, dancing and laughter. Music comes from QMU's Ensemble of the Enlightenment, piping from Eddie Seaman and of course a ceilidh with the Scott Nichol Ceilidh Band. The evening will come to a close with a spectacular fireworks display. Kilts and anything tartan are greatly encouraged for that extra Scottish feel. Each ticket price includes a 2 course haggis buffet dinner, half a bottle of wine per person and the ceilidh. There will be a cash bar available selling beer, wine and soft drinks only. Tickets are £15 per person, must be purchased in advance. The fireworks display, timed for 11.15pm, is open to all and free.
