Background: Edinburgh University Settlement (EUS), a multi- purpose charitable body founded in 1905, works in the elds of Adult Education, Health and Community Development. The Roxy Art House is a beautiful, 19th Century, 8,100 square foot former church complex located in Roxburgh Place in Edinburgh’s Old Town. It is suitable for a whole range of activities - concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, lectures, workshops. EUS acquired the Roxy Art House in 2008 to promote its work, fundraise for projects and develop a thriving contemporary arts centre. For more information please see www.roxyarthouse.org and www.eus.org.uk Aim: To develop an inspiring, sustainable and inclusive centre for the Arts in central Edinburgh which supports a diverse programme of events, workshops and exhibitions. This should be an inviting public and community space and should promote the work of EUS, as well as providing a worthy home for emerging professional artists and facilitating strong development of mid-level arts sector.
Purpose of Job: Continue and develop the management of the Roxy Art House. Time-scale: Post commences 23rd of November with a review following 6 month probationary period. Events Co-ordinator People’s Postcode Lottery Salary circa £19,000 The People’s Postcode Lottery is a charity lottery, our mission is to raise funds for charities and increase awareness for their work by organising lotteries. Players can win up to £25,000 every week and three times a year they can win a share of a larger prize pot, where we hold a street party in the winning postcode. All money raised in the country stays in the country. Due to a new and exciting project we are experiencing rapid expansion, therefore this great opportunity to join a young, dynamic and growing team based in Edinburgh has arisen. A full-time Events Co-ordinator is required to organise and attend weekly ‘Street Prize Presentations’ where winners all over the UK are presented with prizes. The Events Co-ordinator will also work with the Events Team to create three outdoor events every year. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent organisational skills, be able to communicate effectively and have the ability to work to tight deadlines. Lots of enthusiasm, creativity and previous events experience are essential. A full, clean driving licence is essential for this role and UK-wide travel is necessary.
