SLOSS: BOSS? DROSS? Re: Comedian Daniel Sloss to debut at the Fringe Lovely, but he is awful isn’t he? There's only so long that people can be surprised by him being so young. Uninspiring drivel, just like Frankie Boyle. If he wasn't Scottish you wouldn’t care. Becki Comment posted at List.co.uk

Re: Comedian Daniel Sloss to debut at the Fringe Have you actually seen him perform? He’s pretty damn good. Yeah, he won't be young in a few years time, but he’ll still be very funny. Yes, we all need to support our local traders and appreciate the value that they contribute to our communities. I have a little boutique called Cassiopeia on Hyndland Road. I’ve been running [it] now for five years with the support of the Prince’s Trust when I got started. We source and promote Scottish design talent as well as other beautiful

LETTER OF THE FORTNIGHT BUSLOAD OF FAITH I passed The Pakistani Café in Glasgow one evening on the bus on the way home and was gobsmacked by what was written in the window. It was fantastic and incredibly enlightening. There was a sign written on the glass from the inside thanking India for legalising homosexuality. How amazing is that? It generated a really positive discusion on the bus. Brilliant. Johnbear Comment posted at List.co.uk

There are also a lot of other little independents around the Hyndland Road and Gibson Street areas that might be worth a mention. All the best keep up the good work. NOT SO WILD Re: Wild Beasts review Two Dancers (one star) Douglas. Lifeless. What a bland life you must lead. Perhaps go back to your day job and leave all this confusing music stuff behind aye? Put on your Phil Collins and don’t worry your little head. Having heard this record a few times on the net, you couldn’t be more wrong. TRAM SHAME Re: The on-going mess I’ve lived in Edinburgh for 8 years and have never been more embarrassed about the state of the city. I walked around at the weekend and was appalled by huge sections of the city cornered off and dug up. What a ridiculous time of the year to do this when we have a roster of visitors here for the festival. An utter farce. Anna Bana By email
