Family Fun Day, organised as part of this year’s Piping Live! You can also try your hand at drumming and Highland dancing, watch demonstrations, get your face painted or simply sit back and be entertained by a friendly clown or the Glasgow Storytelling Association. The prize for the best event name, however, goes to ‘Pipe Idol’, where young piping stars will compete for a coveted prize without any caustic remarks from Mr Cowell to bring them down. ■ National Piping Centre, Glasgow, Tue 11 Aug.
