OTTER FLEECE

Re: Theatre listings (617 Please could you explain why tickets for Otter Pie cost £8 in Glasgow, £8.50 in Dunfermline and £13/£16 in Edinburgh? Is this deliberately designed

to keep the riff raff out of Edinburgh’s theatres, or is it merely an unintended consequence of some other master plan? Yours Joseph Lambert, Edinburgh via email

CLASH CITY ROCKERS

Re: Clubbing birthdays (616) It's some achievement to reach 18 in club years, but this rock club is not the only alternative club in Glasgow, in fact it's not even the biggest!

One of the original DJs has started up his own venue just down from the Cathouse and this has impacted on the club as it's more like the Cathouse was originally different and innovative! It's good to see competition

LETTER OF THE FORTNIGHT THE NEED FOR SPEED

I moved to Scotland 5 years ago to study in Glasgow and have stayed here since. I go to a lot of gigs Glasgow is great for music but i recently went across to Edinburgh to see a couple of bands playing as part of club nights and was rudely reminded how early the train service finishes. I ended up missing half the band’s set as i had to run for the last train at11.30pm. Surely given the population of both the cities there should be trains till later. On top of that, even the buses stop at midnight during the week, so you’re stranded post midnight.

Also, is there no possibility of laying down some high speed rail and just running a direct train from Glasgow to Edinburgh with no stops? The amount of passengers that make this journey every day must warrant it, no? Matt Naylor, Glasgow via email

Comment posted at List.co.uk SHARK ATTACK!

and good to have another alternative club in Glasgow. I too have been going since Brown St and missed the birthday, so glad it all went well. Re: West Side Story (616) Just back from West Side Story. Everything was fantastic except for Tony. Who cast Daniel Koek?

Keep rocking. Scotland Yes he can sing, but there

needs to keep its alternative clubs. Happy birthday guys! Kiki, Glasgow was no feeling behind any of it. He towered awkwardly above the rest of the cast, looked

years older than them and was hideously wooden. A Tony with receding hair just doesn’t work. And as for his diva-esque bow at the end after he got an obviously diluted cheer compared to everyone else. He spoilt belief in the whole story for us.

This would have been a 5 star show if the male lead hadn't lost us from the outset.

SYMPATHY FOR THE DEBTOR

I am sick of people going on about all the debt they are in. It’s completely self inflicted. I manage quite well without

credit cards and bank loans thanks. It’s just a case of living within your means instead of desiring other things that are out of your range. Whatever happened to good old saving up for things? Laura Annsforde via email

MURDER ON THE DANCEFLOOR Re: 617 Big picture So showing us how to do the ‘Six Step’ on page 9 of your last issue was pretty cool, I could still kind of manage it from my breakdancing days. Why not make this a regular feature your mag and have a new dance move to learn every week? I’m sure there’s plenty of us Strictly fans out there wanting to broaden our dancefloor horizons a step-by step guide to how to do the zombie from Thriller, the caterpillar and the Do-Si-Do We’d not have to look to John Sargeant for tips then. The Online Poll After Donald Trump's golfing resort, what should be next on the tourist-tempting agenda?

Charlotte I’m at the art college, so I really wanted to come and see this to get a better perspective on him as an artist. He’s not one of my favourites, but I do like his style. Crystal I love Sonic Youth, so Gehard Richter is really important to me in regards to how he influenced them. I’m really fortunate to have the chance to see this exhibition.

Gary Some of them are incredible, and I like the huge variation in his style. It keeps things interesting, and most of them are pretty thought provoking. Yvonne I love the way Richter’s able to break the artistic mould. It’s great to see a huge range of his work and view his fantastic attention to detail up close. He’s my hero.
