THE DRUGS DON'T WORK

Re: Mum, Heroin and Me (615)

| read your preview of this programme. I have not seen the full thing yet. but I have been in a very similar place. As your article suggests. herng cut off from your farnrly is not the answer. You learn to live without them. painful though rt rs. and the road to recovery and normality rs very. very long ~ and WIIIIOUI them rt rs desolate and lonely.

Luckily. I got to the end of that road and now live a balanced and useful life. but sadly still Without my farnrly. My parents have died and my sisters don't want to know. I left rt too late. lwrsh Hannah and her mum much love and lots of luck.

LETTER OF THE FORTNIGI-IT

TOP SHOP

Re: Europa Music, Stirling

| rrotrced your listing for Europa musrc at Lrst.co.uk. This shop is fantastic!

It's changed a wee bit since this review (only slightly). Struck hy tragedy. it's strll surviving against the odds the hack shop burned down and all the vrnyl was lost lincludrng the owner's personal collectronl.

But rt was rehurlt! Lots and lots of vrnyl this trrne »— the selection rs actually a lot larger than before (no tills or sinks anymore. you see). They also have a huge amount of CDs from every rrnagrnahle genre. both new and second hand.

We need a return to the independent musrc shops they offer the best customer servrce. hest knowledge and the host atmosphere. let's stop huyrng CDs from the supermarkets and support our rndre shops before they disappear completely! Europa rs the best shop for miles for def!

Loved rt. Great actrng and hrg laughs from the audrence. I particularly lrked the jthIéll)()SlIl()ll of the last two scenes. Brilliant.

‘You mean these giant holes on Leith Walk are actually for something? Amazing!’

Christy Mother

It was unexpected. It seemed short. so I guess that means rt was good, but I don't thrnk it was up to the usual Coen standards.

What do the trams do for Edinburgh?

trotters and a hroken umhrella. hut rt was well worth it. Good to see so much crafty. funky. original stuff being made in Scotland. I'm hoping the next one in December will take the pain out of my Christmas shopping.

DOORS CLOSED DAY

Couldn't helreve it when | read on Jockrockcom that Capitol in Glasgow rs stopping its live gigs. I've had so many good nights in there. and if you ask around. a lot of people in Glasgow would say thrs is the best venue in the city and that includes King Tut's.

A lot of unsigned hands play there. and the sound is always spot on. The organisers don't say wiry, but seems a damn shame 7- don't do it! I thrnk you should tell your readers to all leave comments at www. myspacecom ca;)rtolglasgow to see if there's a way of keeping the doors open.
