AUstrian director Seidl's vision of suburban hell on a sweltering summer weekend. Aiming for authenticity and intitnacy. the director follows his lonely characters (played mainly by non- professionals) into bathrooms and sex parlours. where the camera observes their sagging. protuberant flesh. Absent. however. is any real feeling of compassion towards these forlorn individuals.
