This first solo installation from the Scottish artist was inspired by the building site from which the new

lngleby Gallery sprang. The viewer is confronted by what appears to be loose screws, hanging rawl plugs and an abandoned broom propped up against a wall. In a playful twist on the tendency for artists to transform everyday objects into valuable artworks, on closer inspection the debris in Collis’ installation turns out to be composed of precious stones.

Flt! Frances Richardson eee- Until Fri 24 Oct. 1 1am—4pm. in heavily- detailed drawings and the sculptures she calls ‘walk-in drawings'. Richardson examines the mindset of the compulsive gambler and the notion that the world‘s financial markets are built on anything more secure than an extravagant gamble. Such symbolism might be heavy-handed. but the work is articulate and impressively- made.
