. ‘ She may not be a household name, but the influence of Jo Spence, J0 Spence“ who died in 1992 from complications arising from leukaemia can be found in work by the likes of Cindy Sherman and Tracey Emin. This small but powerful retrospective includes works from Spence’s ‘Return to Nature’ and ‘Death Mask’ series’, which explore the two issues closest to the artist’s heart: her mother and the cancer that would eventually kill her.
