Scotland are being offered the chance to share their stories. as part of a unique new project.

Helmed by the Scottish Book Trust and produced in collaboration with BBC Radio Scotland and the Scottish Arts Council. the Days Like This initiative is set to highlight the true and often extraordinary stories of people throughout the country as part of a book and radio project to be showcased next year.

Hardeep Singh Kohli. actress Siobhan Redmond. mountaineer Jamie Andrew. percussionist Evelyn Glennie and ldlewild frontman Roddy Woomble will assist in the project as celebrity curators. and will write and record their own story as an inspiration for people to do the same.

Anyone can contribute their work to the project and all stories will appear on the BBC website. with the best ones set to be

recorded and discussed in a series of

THEATRE AWARDS ANNOUNCED

I The Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland concluded last week with Best Production, Director and Performance (male) going to the NTS/Dundee Rep production of Peer Gynt; Best Performance (female) went to Amy Manson for the Lyceum’s Six Characters in Search of an Author. MOCKUMENTARY TO HONOUR ROBERT BURNS I Ugly Betty and Extras actress Ashley Jensen is just one of many Scottish celebrities set to star in No Holds Bard, a 60-minute comedy mockumentary, due to begin filming next week. Celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Jensen will join Bill Paterson, Dennis Lawson, Ford Kiernan, Greg Hemphill, Paul Higgins, Laura Fraser, Ron Donachie, Katy Murphy and Forbes Masson to film a modern comedy tale set around a Burns recital.

Alan Tyler, head of entertainment at BBC Scotland, said of the line-up: ‘We are delighted to have attracted this fantastic array of Scottish stars to the cast. Many of them have worked with BBC Scotland before, and it feels great to welcome them back home. BBC Scotland will be doing a lot to celebrate the man and his works in 2009 and we are delighted that this affectionate tale will form a part of that.‘
