have begun pre- production on the sequel to hit Glasgow-based film Red Road. Rounding up Donkeys stars James Cosmo. Kate Dickie and Martin Compston and is to be filmed on a similarly small budget to its predecessor.
GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL has announced plans to build the city's first wind farm, should they get the appropriate backing for the project. Five turbines would be used to power all traffic and street lights in the city.
will host this year's Sundial Scottish Arts Council Book Awards, Scotland's most prestigious book award, and the fourth largest in the UK. The awards take place at the Borders Book Festival in Melrose on Friday 20 June.
SCOTLAND TO BENEFIT FROM £125 MILLION GIFT OF ART
I After much speculation the wait is finally over: the National Galleries of Scotland will take joint responsibility, with the Tate, for a new £125 million national collection of art, gifted by Anthony d'Offay. As one of the largest gifts of art ever made. d‘Offay‘s gesture has been much anticipated in recent years. The collection, known as Artist Rooms, will include 725 works, with artists included in the collection ranging from Ian Hamilton Finlay. Gilbert 8. George and Damien Hirst to Jeff Koons and Andy Warhol. A series of opening displays will be launched in Spring/Summer 2009.
