.. You'd think The Concretes wouldn’t have much in 5 common with AC/DC, INXS and Iron Maiden but they

share the fact that they’ve all had to recruit new singers in their lifetime. Few survive such upheaval, but happily this band’s drummer Lisa Milberg came out from behind her kit to save the day and be lead singer. This, and the imminent arrival of new album Hey Trouble, suggests that a year or two of turmoil has not embittered the band and their expansive Phil Spectorish production remains sweetly addictive. This record puts them on a plane with the likes of Lambchop for spectral, expansive pop stakes.
