Going back to listen to their 2005 debut Silent Alarm is a - ‘ reminder just how breathtaking a record it really was a pity then that follow up A Weekend in the City is so hit
and miss. When the band hit the right combination it can still fizz and spark like a loose electric power cable but they seem to be striving to make something vast and more epic but remain unsure where to take it, afraid they risk losing their emotive edge. Reassuringly, though, you still get the feeling their best is still to come. (Mark Robertson)
