Cover story: Cate Blanchett
When she first read the script for Notes on a Scandal, Cate Blanchett was horrified. But that didn’t stop her taking on the role of the art teacher who has an affair with one of her pupils. Her performance has won her an Oscar nomination and praise from critics. She talks to Miles Fielder about how, as a mother of two young boys, she approached the role. And, despite being more in demand in Hollywood than ever before, she reveals why she is currently preparing to move back to her native Australia to take on the post of artistic director of Sydney Theatre Company with her playwright husband, Andrew Upton, on page 14.
