NEW WHAT'S ON GUIDE BY MOBILE PHONE
Revellers visiting Edinburgh for this year’s Hogmanay celebrations will be able to get information on where to eat, drink and visit in the city direct to their mobile phone as part of a pilot project developed by VisitScotland working in association with The List.
The ‘Find lt’ pilot allows visitors and residents to access useful tourist information on the move. From now until 8 January 2007, details of Edinburgh bars, restaurants and visitor attractions, included in the pilot project, will be available for downloading to mobile phones and PDAs. There are also top ten tips on what to do during your stay in the city and weather updates.
Users can sign up to the service by texting Find It to 64118 (users pay normal charges) or by registering on the website www.visitscotiand.com/findit. A free video podcast will also be available for downloading to give visitors a flavour of Hogmanay partying in Edinburgh.
STAY IN EDINBURGH FOR HOGMANAY
If you live outside Edinburgh and would like an economical way of staying in the city for the Hogmanay period, there are still beds to be found. They are in the heart of the city in Edinburgh’s Old Town, set up for groups of friends, and best of all, they include a Hogmanay Party Pass.
