We are looking for someone who can combine editorial flair and expertise with the ability to inspire and manage a talented team of writers and researchers. Applicants should have a wide ranging interest in contemporary popular culture and the arts in Scotland and beyond. Proven editorial talent and experience, good contacts, careful attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and good-humoured under the pressure of tight deadlines are also required in this exciting and challenging role.

A good grasp of integrating print and new media would be an advantage as The List is set on deveIOping a leading presence in digital publishing in Scotland.

To manage and deliver the programme activity for BRAW, a strategic readership development agency which acts nationally to increase readership of, and profile and support for, children's authors and illustrators living in Scotland. Its current portfolio of projects includes the Royal Mail Awards for Scottish Children's books and the BRAW website: www.braw.org.uk

Significant project management experience. an in—depth knowledge of children’s writers and illustrators, a sound knowledge of the booktrade, education, libraries and literature sectors is required, together with excellent communication and organisational skills.
