I Priceyourmeal.com has launched a new section which allows diners to haggle over the price of meals with top restaurateurs at prices ranging from 1p. The idea was dreamed up by entrepreneur Sukhvir Dhillon (pictured) and will initially focus on Glasgow restaurants.

I Tennent's Lager have transferred their sponsorship of the Scottish Cup to the country's national football team. The four-year sponsOrship deal will run until after the World Cup finals in South Africa in 2010. Whether the Scotland side makes it to the finals is yet to be seen.

I The Muriel Spark society has applied to the Scottish Writers’ Museum for a memorial to the late author. If successful, the stone slab will be placed in Makar’s Court, alongside epithet—bearing tributes to other key Scottish writers such as Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns.
