Cover story: The Arches take over The List Taking over a magazine is ' easy enough, as it turns
I out. We parked a minibus on Argyle Street, rounded up a loyal, mental army of performance artists and clubbers, and tore up the M8 with intent to revolt. We played repetitive beats into The List offices for a couple of hours, and then sent a couple of guerrilla mimes in to very little resistance.
Finding content to fill a magazine is a very different matter. We’re celebrating the Arches’ 15th birthday this month, so of course we wanted to talk about that. We’d also like to draw your attention to some of the most exciting and (in our opinion) underrated performers, artists, bands, events and people in Scotland. So, no big cover stars, no crap celebrity interviews. In fact, try and imagine this magazine as an extension of the Arches’ soul, if you will. Raw, a bit rough, completely experimental and totally committed to giving emergent talent a leg up.
And youse can have it back next fortnight, by the way. We’re knackered.
