Anyone who lists among their influences, Karl Marx, Groucho Marx, Sandy Denny, Hamish Henderson and Crazy Horse is alright by us. The legendary singer of the ‘muckle sangs’ — that’s the big songs of ancient traditional Scots ballads to me and you — makes a welcome return to Glasgow. Still regarded as Scotland’s greatest singing socialist he can reel a crowd in with his wit and wisdom like few others can.
