Gossip, chat and rumour from the gallery floor

l A new exhibition looking at the influence that Titian's 'Venus Rising' (1485) has had on artists through the ages will take place from Thursday 13 April until Sunday 28 May at the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh. The painting, which was bought by the National Galleries of Scotland in 2003 for 2.11.4 million, will be sown alongside works also in the collection by Magritte, Cranach, Degas, the Scottish artist Edward Baird and Calum Colvin.

I The Cabin Exchange project. will take place from Mon 10 April until Sun 23 April, where a group of local artists will take over three 8ft x 10ft steel containers. The artists showing interactive. digital and senSOry installations include Chris Biddlecombe. Michael Clarence. Linda Greig, Ruth Legg, Yvonne Mullock, Hugh Watt, Maria Cavanah and Guyan Porter. There will be 27 events involving more than 40 artists, and the cabins can be found in Dennistoun (on the corner of Duke Street and Sydney Street). Tradeston (T radeston car park) and Pollockshaws (Ashtree Road). For more information visit cabinexchangecom.

I The Collective Gallery, Edinburgh has released a short list of artists who if successful will have the opportunity to exhibit in the gallery space. The programme presents the work of recently graduated students form BA and MFA courses from all over Scotland, offering a platform for the next generation of artists. The shortlist includes artists from Glasgow School of Art, and Edinburgh and Dundee College of Art.
