Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb’, Dar Williams refocuses a paean to the joys of out-of-it hedonism to become a hymn of disenchantment at the Bush administration. Even Roger Waters would have approved. It kind of sums Williams up: she is famed for her straight- forward emotiveness, skipping so much of the wistful fluff that clogs up too much contemporary country, rock and folk.
