LEARN TO DANCE
The festive period is a taxing time of year. You eat, have a few drinks, nibble at a snack or two, watch the telly for a bit then eat again. Come January and it’s hard to break the habit of constantly grazing and get yourself doing aerobic exercising again. In the cold, dark months there’s nothing more depressing than hauling on your smelly gym kit and going for a run. After all the fun and sparkle of Christmas and New Year, it’s a struggle to let go of the more glamorous side of life.
But thankfully getting fit doesn’t always mean having to sweat it out on the treadmill or jumping on a bike, because as anyone who watched Strictly Come Dancing will know, ballroom, jive and tango don’t half get the heart pumping. And I don’t mean that the sight of Colin Jackson’s tight trousers was enough to set the pulse racing, but the fact that even an world record-holding athlete like him was out of breath at the end of a routine, is testament to what good exercise dancing can be. So dig out that tux/sequined dress/feath- er headdress and embrace the new, graceful you.
