Claudio says: ‘In San Francisco. a lot of the little independent shops look like someone‘s bedroom or living room. They don‘t go for the really slick look. which I lind a bit sterile and intimidating. We‘ve gone for basic and homely to let the clothes be the focus of the shop rather than some cheesy decor.‘

The style of three cities has been sandwiched into Mya. ()ne corner of the shop holds vintage clothing from Glasgow while the rest of the shelves are filled with items sourced from San lirancisco where (‘laudio used to live -- and items from Bangkok. Mya's home town.

Here. you might pick up a £l5 belt that has been hand-made by fashion designer Sarayuth Yusathid. who has a boutique in Thailand called Jeremiah. or a floaty. patterned dress in bright shades for around £35.

plaster missing from the walls. gothic metal railings and yellowed photographs appear to be the order of the day. contrasting with dazzling chandeliers and tangled crosses picked out by glowing light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. (‘hanging room cubicles are finished with reclaimed wooden doors. some of which still have ‘toilets' or ‘choir room‘ picked out in faded letters. It‘s all very singular.

The qttit'kiness of the interior

extends to the fashion. For women. it's puffball skirts. skinny jeans. Victoriana and tops that twin simple jersey fabric with panels of silk or sequinned patterns. Tops cost from around £65 while a gorgeous. slinky mustard dress weighs in at £90. lior guys. it’s all about the contrast of old and new; a bottle- green T-shin is cut to reveal a white shirt underneath. while a heavy winter jacket has wire in the hem. allowing the base of the jacket to be moulded however the wearer chooses (U95). The launch party to celebrate the opening of the first branch of AllSaints outside of lingland is due to kick off this 'l‘hursday. featuring a guest appearance from the Paddingtons. with Radio Magnetic on hand to record on the night.
