Cover story: Sharon Stone
One notorious scene in Basic Instinct turned Sharon Stone into a worldwide household name. Since that moment in her career, however, she hasn’t found things so easy. A series of sub-standard thrillers and toe-curling romances have not exactly confirmed her among the leading lights of cinema, but behind the duff movies is an actor of ferocious intelligence and surprising subtlety. It just takes a great film director to spot the talent, and that’s precisely what Jim Jarmusch has done in his new film Broken Flowers. Forget about Basic Instinct 2, due to stain our screens next year, you can find out about the real Sharon Stone, as we talk to Jarmusch himself. See page 20.
