Edinburgh Festival lull, it’s worth casting a slightly wider net and heading south to Berwick-upon-TWeed for a gem of a festival called, quite simply, Summer Music at Paxton House. Now in its tenth season, this annual event attracts high quality chamber groups and soloists and, this year, has an especially interesting line-up. Starry violinist Jack Liebeck, the prize-winning Bronte String Quartet and Scots soprano Catriona Holt are among those who perform in the atmospheric setting of this fine Palladian country house.
