SCOTLAND 4 AUSTRALIA 1
What’s this all about then? A quick-fire mix of comic media. Scotland 4 Australia 1. as the name suggests, is a rare phenomenon. Given no more than six minutes each to impress. their stand-up sets are juggled among team video clips, live sketches and comedic songs. A number that champions the aggressive properties of Buckfast sets the tone for a show that bravely addresses such pressing contemporary issues as urinal stage fright and the questionable need for two football teams in Dundee. It’s all strung vaguely together by a self-conscious narrative about their suicidal sound engineer.
Australia 1 Kieran Butler, the shocking ringleader who once took Natalie Imbruglia’s biggest hit ‘Torn' and turned into something altogether less savoury. It was called ‘Porn’, OK?
Scotland 4 Keir McAllister, Austin Low, Paul Pirie and Peter Aitchison all bring a characteristic dynamic to proceedings that take in the observational. physical and supremely daft.
Where we saw them Why Not?, Edinburgh. Sat 11 Jun.
