In 2005 Scottish Youth Theatre will move into it's new home. creating a centre for the development of creativity & the imagination. in the old Sheriff Court in Glasgow. As part of the latest stage in this unique development, the company is looking to appoint the following positions:
BUILDING MANAGER
This new post WI” commence in January 2005. Directly responSible for the day to day operations. bookings
& programming of the youth theatre's new premises. the ideal candidate will posses a wealth of experience of running a busy venue and managing all forms of events. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and Administrative Manager. this role is pivotal to the operations of the new centre. Salary £25k
MARKETING MANAGER
A dynamic. imaginative indiVidual is required to create and manage all aspects the company's PR, marketing and press campaigns and to run the press and marketing department. Salary £20k
PRESS AND MARKETING ASSISTANT
A key member of the press and marketing team. this challenging position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain a Wide range of experience and skills as the company gears up to launch its new building.

CREATIVE SPECIALISTS
To suppOrt the increased level of activities that the Company will run in the new building - alongside established activities such as the annual Summer Festival, Weekly Classes etc - the youth theatre is seeking to increase its pool of freelance profe53ionals in the following areas - Theatre Directors. Wardrobe Staff. Stage Management. Musical Directors. Drama Tutors. Designers. Movement Specialists & Choreographers and Pastoral Care Staff.

Based at Lochgelly Centre. you will assist the Head of Centre in the management of the Centre with specific responsibility for marketing. the box office. administration and front and back of house functions.You will also assiSt in the strategic development of the theatre overall. with particular responsibility for marketing and programme development.
You must be educated to degree level in either a Financial/ Marketing/Business Management field or equivalent. have experience in developing/ monitoring financial systems. devising marketing strategies and developing innovative marketing techniques. Excellent interpersonal skills along with financial and marketing skills are essential. An understanding of theatre/audience deveIOpment is desirable.

Based at Carnegie Hall. Dunfermline's centre for Performing Arts and Live Music. you will assiSt the Theatre Manager with specific responsibilities for marketing. box office. administration and front of house functions. You will also be involved in the strategic development of the theatre overall.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking experience or who is aware of the challenges of working in a busy professional theatre promOting work that is both accessible and of the highest quality.
You must have excellent communication. motivation and management skills. experience in operating Databox or similar box office systems and a high degree of flexibility. good problem solving and co-ordinating abilities to manage unusual/unexpected situations as they arise. A minimum of two years post qualification experience working in a similar venue and a degree in Marketing. Business Management or equivalent are desirable.
The post is temporary for up to l2 months to cover maternity leave and is subject to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
