Research Yoko Ono at the Liverpool Biennial
I Edinburgh’s art scene continues to grow with two more spaces opening up. Amber Boome gallery, formerly the Open Eye premises on Cumberland Street, is launching with an exhibition of prints by Graham Flack on Thu 21 Oct and will run a programme of shows by local emerging artists. Breaking the traditional gallery mould completely, Cell 77, a 12005q ft room at 77 Montgomery Street, is a new art space donated by Newhaven Communications to facilitate creativity in all its many forms. Musical performance art will give over to DIY Fanzine workshops and ‘Thirsty Lunch’ literary readings will be happening Tue 12-Thu 14 Oct. To find out more email edinburgh_cell77@hotmail.com I Glasgow sculptor Kenny Hunter whose ‘Girl with a Rucksack' was his latest addition to Glasgow's landscape in the Gorbals, is showing work in Lille this month and Washington the next. ‘Animal Virtues', on display at Artconnexion Gallery and in the Hotel de Ville. Lille, explore animals that have adapted and thrived in urbanised societies. most specifically 'Cat. Fox and Pigeon’. ‘Works in Color' opens at Conner Contemporary in Washington on 22 October.
