FREE TICKETS TO THE LAST VICTORY
The List has teamed up with the Glasgow Film Theatre in Glasgow and Filmhouse in Edinburgh to give away 100’s of tickets to see the compelling film The Last Victory at an exclusive preview screening. By taking your copy of The List to either box office from 22 July 2004, you will get two tickets to see the film on Saturday 31 July.
The Last Victory is a moving documentary about the hopes, the convictions, the intrigues and the fluctuating fortunes of a small but passionate Italian community. The film documents the thrilling stony of a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages where every year 100,000 people gather on the Piazza del Campo in Siena, Tuscany to watch II Palio, the breath-taking, colourful, nerve wracking and spectacular horse race. The Last Victory follows the passionate struggle of the small district of Civetta as for months they prepare for the race, carefully selecting its delegates for the coming year. / Civetta have not won since 1979 so the stakes are high. The culminating tension to the big day makes this verite piece of cinema j. a natural, dramatic and moving story of the residents hopes, personal convictions and craving for good fortune.
