1 He’s a comic’s comic Being adored by an audience is one thing but being held in regard by your fellow funsters is another. It's going back a bit, but when he didn't win the Perrier in 1996 despite being the hottest tip since its inception, winner Dylan Moran managed to slur out the opinion that the wrong man got the nod.
2 He’s a comedian who’s actually in a good sitcom So. perhaps as a way of saying thanks for the compliment. Bailey agreed to appear in Moran's excellent Black Books. Though as the put-upon Hawaiian- shirted Manny, he may wonder just how much of a favour it was.

3 He’s a comedian who’s actually good in an OK panel show As the savvy hippie materialist on Never Mind the Buzcocks, he's often the only thing worth watching. Other than Mark Lamarr’s ever flattening barnet.
4 He remembers his old pals Despite the fame, the fun and the fortune, Bailey doesn’t forget his roots. So. he played a small part in the second series of 75 Storeys High for his old Rubber Bishop chum Sean Lock. Heavily disguised though he was in a dimly lit south-east London high rise flat.
