John Armitage Memorial Concert Founded in 2000, JAM is set up to nurture and promote the future of classical composition in the UK. Up and coming composers are especially encouraged, through inviting scores from anyone and everyone, no matter what age or experience. Alongside performances of these pieces. new commissions from established composers add a bit of known weight. as a first time for JAM in Edinburgh, but hopefully they‘ll be back. See Preview. St Cuthbert’s Church, Edinburgh, Sat 70 Jul.
The Full Monteverdi You've got to go for the title alone. but just don't expect the obvious. I Fagiolini enjoy a well deserved reputation for their inventive approach to presenting early music in the concert hall, especially through staged or semi-stage versions of Renaissance music for voices. So be prepared for something a bit different as well as, of course. the tiramisu. Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow, Sun 78 Jul.
Anthony Pike plays as part of the Summer Music Festival, Paxton House, Berwick Upon Need, Fri 16-Sun 18 Jul
