I Groovejet at Trash. I lptn——3am. £8. Weekly. Patil Mejia presides over the city‘s most popular R&B and soul night. attracting a loyal crowd every week. Room I has the Brown Brothers playing vocal and commercial house and Room 3 has Dave with the party anthems.
G Haptic House Boat Boarding at York Hill basin. 7.45pm-tbc. £15. 26 Jun only. Get your bottles of rum ready and prepare the old legs for some choppy action on the river of funk. Hap tic are doing the boat party thing once again. Joining Gianni and Colin Davie this year is Michael Peck of Overtone and Barry Reeves from Deep Freeze. Twice. Poor bastard. Anyway. he‘s spinning here alongside Petrae Foy and residents Alan Belshaw. Fraser Latta and Simon Foy.

l()pm- 3am. £5. Weekly. A formidable night of funk for those who like their entertainment mature. but still jammin‘. Ross Macmillan presents a selection of soul. funk and disco augmented with original loops and samples to guarantee a new take on familiar sounds.

‘This is basically an evening of cabaret with music, performance, magic, drag kings and the like. The second half of the night is focused on the music with disc jockeys and records and that kind of thing.’ It’s almost worth turning this whole article to Frank Percy, Club Tromolo's inimitable compere. He’s got the gift of the gab and knows how to capture the anarchy that the Tromolo posse bring tothe Buff Club every month.
The club’s origins are obfuscated by he incorrigible Percy: ‘l’ve worked clubs in Macclesfield since the early 705, although everybody says I look too young to have done that. I came up to Scotland on a bus trip to the Highlands, I stopped off in Glasgow and the bus drove away without me. I’ve been here ever since. All of the money that we make from the cloakroom, bar and such is going towards building a spaceship
landing strip in Dalmellington.
‘This month we’ve got Quinn playing live and the Stinky Munchkins,‘ explains Percy of the forthcoming Tromolo date. ‘Me missus likes them. She’s a patron of the arts. Well, she’s a patron of the Art School anyway.‘

I Moda at Moda. 9pm 3am. Free. Weekly. Fine (ilasgow DJ (and footballer) Barry (iemmel drops some explosive sounds at this beautiful bar in the gay district.
I Papacool at Ad Lib.
l lpm—13.30am. £6. 26 Jun. Monthly. The very sweet Papacool are doing the jazzy soul funk thing for the last time at their current venue. Ad Lib. So. it's classic rare groove and cutting edge material from late ‘till early at this intimate drinkerie.
I Rapture at Media. l lpm 3am. £tbc. W ‘ekly. 70s and 80s classics from James Rttssell. and guest l)Js every two weeks make this a fun night ottt.

The hottest small club in (ilasgow. Residents Linus Loves and Kevin play line tunes from the hottest labels. and the crowd go go wild. The club‘s label.
Breastfed (home to Mylo). is just one of
these. Turn tip early because there’s always a massive crowd of people desperate to get licked every month.
I Saturdays at Blanket at Blanket. l().3()pm 3am. £7 (£5). The funkicst R&B in the city rocks the big back bedroom on a Saturday in Bed with the legendary Raymond Woods. Jim da Best and his mUsical antics keep you awake in the front bedroom making this new Saturday night one of the most popular in the city.
I Seduce at Archaos. I lpm 3am. £8 (£6). Weekly. ('harty dance and R&B. not to mention an unhealthy smattering of cheese on this huge Sat nighter.

0 Tidy at the (‘arling Academy.
9pm 3am. £15. 26 Jun only. Tidy's first foray in Scotland sees them bringing a crack team of hard-edged DJ talent to the Academy. Yoji Biomehanika. the Tidy Boys.
