Shrek 2
Pitch Bumbling but well- intentioned green ogre goes to meet his iii-laws . . . all hell breaks loose.
Stars The voices of Mike Myers. Cameron Diaz. Eddie Murphy. Lowdown The goofy kids' animation that it's more than OK to like returns for a second blitzkrieg—paced instalment. After he marries the once-beautiful Fiona (Diaz). Shrek (Myers) finds a letter from his missus' parents. played by John Cleese and Julie Andrews (thought she'd lost her voice?). inviting the newlyweds over for scran. The only problem (apart from Shrek's depraved table manners) is that they have no idea their little princess is now an ogre. Presumabty they weren't invited to the wedding. which you'd think was fairly rare in those days.
As though this disastrous Meet the Parents scenario was not excruciating enough for Slirek. an embittered fairy godmother (Jennifer Saunders) reminds the king about a deal they agreed on that Fiona should marry her wee bOy. Prince Charming (Rupe Everett). So. what can a conflicted king do? How about hiring the sword-fighting. ogre—slaying Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to bump our green hero off?
