The List has teamed up with the Usher Hall to give away tickets to see (and CDs of) dance music pioneer Herbert on Thursday 22 April. Renowned for reinventing big band jazz and marrying it with the kind of electronic processes usually reserved for cutting edge dance music. Herbert’s shows include stunning vocals, live sampling and irreverent theatrical moments. Joining him is the cutting edge Norwegian jazz pianist Bugge Wesseltoft with his unique blend of jazz and club sounds. This show appeals to fans of dance music as well as traditional and contemporary jazz enthusiasts.

The List has teamed up with the UGC in Glasgow and Edinburgh to give away over 200 tickets to see the remarkable docu-film Capturing the Friedmans on Wednesday 7 April 2004 at 8.30pm. By taking your copy of The List to either box office from 1 April, you will get two tickets to see this highly anticipated
film before it's released.
In 1987. Great Neck. Long Island. a comfortable upper middle-class town. was rocked when Arnold Friedman. a respected high school teacher and his 18-year-old son. Jessie. were arrested on charges of molestation. rape. and sodomy against young boys to whom they taught computer classes in their basement. The documentary Capturing the Friedmans is a dark and disturbing look at the Friedman family (Arnold, sons David. Jessie, Seth and their mother Elaine) that compels us to sift through the ambiguous evidence and determine for ourselves the question of their guilt or innocence.
