AZURE RAY
The two members of Azure Ray, Maria Taylor and Orenda Fink, met aged 15 at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, and have been making music together ever since. This is no perky, poppy Kids From Fame scenario though, because Azure Ray create a thoughtful, intelligent, dreamy flavour of indie, the kind of thing that creeps under the skin and never leaves you. Now part of the vibrant alternative scene coming out of Omaha, Nebraska, the duo are keen collaborators, managing to perform in Connor Oberst’s Bright Eyes touring band and even writing the odd tune for baldy mega-irritant Moby in their spare time.
