“~ THE DILLINGER’ESCAPE PLAN Angry doesn’t really cut it these days does it? So DEP take all their frustration and aggression of the day and filter it through a fine mesh of bad spirit coupled with devastating technical ability. The resultant audio sounds like if Fugazi and Slayer had bastard kids and they all turned out like him from The Omen. Kindred spirits include one-time Faith No More lead Ioon Mike Patton with whom they rendered an Aphex Twin track even more creepin unpleasant than ever thought possible. Pair this with a new frontman with a fondness for hurting his freshly excavated poop into crowds at major mainstream rock festivals and you have a recipe for festive delight. For God’s sake don’t wear your ‘ironic’ santa hat, they’ll probably try and eat you. (Mark Robertson)
