I COLIN BARR’S NEXT venture should open in November on the third floor terrace of the Princes Square shopping gallery in Glasgow. Called Salty Dog, it promises to specialise in the slightly unusual combination of cocktails and seafood. On Sauchiehall Street, a new bar called the Glasgow Pub Company has opened where the old Blob Shop once traded.
I MONO CAFE/BAR AND restaurant - the c0untry's only fully vegan venue in Glasgow - is celebrating World Vegan Day on Saturday 1 November by slicing its menu prices in half. That means you can get sweet pepper and courgette potato cakes and salad Or wontons filled with smoked tofu and apricot jam for as little as £1.75 — or a Thai Curry with basmati rice for £3.25. Drinks Ordered with food will be reduced as well. Mono founder Craig Tannock says: ‘We th0ught WOrId Vegan Day w0uld be a great opponunity to encowage more people to come along and give it a go.” Mono is located in Kings Court.
