FISHBONE
Funk metal might be going through an unfavourable phase at the moment, but that hasn‘t stopped one of its original and most extreme proponents from continuing to dish it out wholesale. LA outfit Fishbone were always about cross-pollination of musical genres from their inception in the mid-80$, and they’re still equally as happy bashing out metal, funk, rap, ska, reggae and punk, usually within the same chorus.
An obvious influence for chart- busting acts like No Doubt and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Fishbone have preferred to tread a musical path less travelled, but one that has kept the band’s unique individuality intact. (Doug Johnstone)
