Israeli-born. London-based saxophonist Gilad At/inon has won a lot of admirers since he moved to the UK and set about demonstrating that he is a tan iinproviser with a fiery and inventive approach to his music. At/inon has also worked in high profile settings outside of ia//. including stints with The Blockheads and the dreaded Shane McGov-ran, but jazz is very much his first
priority.
He leads his own Orient House Ensemble in what is becoming an annual autumn Visit to these parts. Willi Frank Harrison on piano. Oli Hayhtirst on bass. and drummer Asal Sirkis. Their music incorporates a distinct flavour of the saxophonist and clarinettist's Middle Eastern roots alongside classic American
