Portrait Miniatures From The Dumas Egerton Collection Thu 21 Mar- -Stin l6 Jun. The second in a series of annual exhibitions exploring the world of the portrait miniature drawn from one of the most comprehensive private collections in the world. Over 7() works have been selected from the 5()() strong collection revealing the skill of this delicate artforni. Divided into two parts. the first section looks at the different working methods of the artists including painting in bodycolour on vellum which was prevalent in the l6th and 17th centuries. Part two examines the differing traditions of Scottish. Irish and Iinglish miniaturists as well as the contributions from France. Switzerland and the Low Countries. NEW SHOW.
