USHER HALL
Front of House Manager - Ref R/OO/l36 APS £2|,036—£22,959
The City of Edinburgh Council has recently spent in excess of £9 million refurbishing the Usher Hall, the City's world renowned Classic Concert Hall.
The centrepiece of the Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh base of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and a regular venue for popular music. the Usher Hall will be spreading its wings in the future.
The Hall now has a promenade facility and the ability to house conferences, exhibitions and trade shows. It will be promoting its own Concert Series throughout the year.
We are now looking to fill this key post to help the Hall achieve its potential.
As a member of the Usher Hall's Management Team, you will manage all steward. attendant. cleaning, caretaking, bars and sales staff and all front of house activities
in a manner that maintains and develops the Usher Hall as a well organised. comfortable and welcoming environment that customers want to experience again.
You will need to have a degree level qualification or equivalent experience and training along with substantial knowledge of the operational arrangements of a large concert hall. including experience at a senior level.This includes meeting members of the public, promoters, users and sponsors to discuss their needs, resolve differences and develop/implement continuous improvement.You will need to be able to foster team spirit in the front of house workforce and contribute as a team player.
You also need to have knowledge and understanding of budgetary and related controls as applied to front of house activities.

The Social Economy Development Unit aims to develop potential social economy sector organisations throughout Greater Easterhouse.
*Social Economy Development Officer (Arts) (17.5hrs) With a focus on arts you will be working directly with 3 local arts organisations on a capacity building programme.
Social Economy Development Officer (Health) With a focus on health and community transport you will be responsible for developing new and innovative integrated solutions within these sectors.
*Social Economy Development Officer Working closely with the Community Support Service you will provide hands on assistance to local voluntary
sector and social economy groups.
*Posts financed by the European Union to December 2002.
All posts require a good communicator. Being highly motivated you will enjoy a challenge and have a successful track record of partnership working.
Having knowledge of funding sources for the voluntary sector and business support you will play an integral part in the development of the overall strategy to ensure continuing evolvment of the social economy.

We require an enthusiastic and self—motivated person with a background in community arts to join the arts team. You'll be responsible for developing a locally based programme of activities.
Creative and with good communication skills, you must be educated to degree level and have knowledge and experience of the development of arts projects with communities.
