OUR STORIES, OUR VOICES, OURSELVES Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh, Fri 19 & Sat 20 Oct.
As a young person, how do you write your first play? What subject do you choose? What makes you feel you have enough experience to write? These are some of the questions confronting 30 members of Brunton Youth Theatre over the last eight weeks as they’ve struggled with the highs and lows of creating their own short plays. Using improvisation, direct experience and attempts at monologues, they’ve explored writing in many forms. Now it’s time to perform their plays, Our Stories, Our Voices, Ourselves, and get the first ever audience reaction to their work. Below, four members talk about their first play.
