CLUB RE-LAUNCH LIFE
Corinthian, weekly Fridays.
If you‘re tired of clubs where seemingly you go just to see how much you can sweat in one evening. perhaps it‘s time you got a Life. Offering itself as an upmarket deodorised alternative. Life aims to become the classier Glasgow Friday night out with an eclectic soundtrack taking in the club classics. house and funk of DJ Kevin McFarlane, Southport Weekender legend Bob Jeffries' soul and Gordon Miller‘s
varied record box.
Describing his style as ‘touching on R88, but basically uplifting US garage and good quality black vocals‘. Miller is enthusiastic about Life and its venue. Corinthian, which he describes as ‘a really professional organisation‘.
‘I think with Kevin McFarlane and Bob Jeffries. they‘ve gone for a really strong line-up. These guys have been about for a while and they really know what they‘re doing.‘ Surely there must be pressure to succeed quickly though. it

I Off The Hook at The l3th Note
Lifers Kevin McFarlane, Bob Jeffries and Gordon Miller being Friday night at Corinthian and all. but if there is. Miller isn‘t feeling it. ‘I really enjoy the music I'm playing just now and I‘ve got a passion for what I do. so I really don't feel any pressure at all. I think we're offering something different. Glasgow‘s at saturation point right now. so we‘ll hopefully be a breath of fresh air.’
Corinthian may have a bit of a professional footballers. actors and Scottish rock royalty' reputation but Gordon Miller wants Life to be inclusive. not exclusive. ‘We want people to come along and be surprised. The image of the Corinthian conjures up a certain sort of person, btrt we‘re not aiming at a specific market as such. To ptrt it bluntly, we're targeting an audience of music lovers.' And with such a diverse mix of music to love. it's clear that Life is what you make it. (Steven Clark)
