LAST GOOD MEAL
Author DENISE MINA's /ast book, Exr/e, rs now out in paperback (Bantam) and her next work, Resolution is scheduled for an autumn release.
Where did you eat your last decent meal? was at a convention at the National Film Theatre in London and stopped off in Wagamama fOr lunch. Wagainarna is a chain of noodle houses all over London. It serves smoothies and healthy type food. They do a brilliant udon. peanut and lime dish \‘Jllll king prawns that tastes like extreme satay. I'd go to Wagamama all the time if the S€P./lllg staff weren't so pretentious. You work in a cafe.

get over yourself. What is your favourite restaurant?
FLISion in Byres Road.
' Glasgow. The food is mostly sushi and noodle bowls. so it is very tasty and it arrives all together. I don't like the rigid three- COurse dinner — a free- for-all is more social. The deep fried filo-nut parcels with ice cream are to die for.
And where would you go for your last supper? A restaurant in Italy near Pescara called Pier De la Vinge. Earlier this year I was on holiday with a crowd of friends and we Climbed a hill to find this obscure place that did a lemon spaghetti. I had the truffle and porcini gnocchi. It's difficult to balance two such heavy flavours without a chemical after-taste but it was beautiful. I wanted to lick my plate and order the same again. I did neither and regret it.
