Thursday nights at the Glasgow School of Art have, from time immemorial, been a right laugh, but they're about to change. Jack Mottram reassures himself that all is well using the time-honoured question and answer format beloved of this particular column.
What’s happening then? The club- sr/ed gap left by the departure of Hi 3'; Karate to pastures new has been filled with Freak Moves. a spanking brand new hip hop night.
Dope. Def. And not wack. Uh-huh. if you say so. It's no ordinary hip hop night either, thanks to the beat- juggling, flares. transforms and scratches of Dema and Mr Nice. also known as Freak Menoovers. I’m not even going to pretend I know what you’re talking about. Dema and Mr Nice sound familiar ‘_ though. And so they should. The pair began honing their turntablisf {; skills back in 95. and have been fixtures on Glasgow’s small but perfectly formed hip hop scene ever Since. Their first proper night was the Tablisf Lounge. an open-house affair at the 13th Note that welcomed bedroom talent. established turntable A boffins and showcased the duo's _, expertise in Vinyl-manipulation.
