My friend Tony and | always hang out in the bars in Compton Street — cool atmosphere, good looking men, and then we go to GA. Y. Camp Attack on a Friday night at The Astoria. Fab venue — old theatre, tables in the upstairs part wrth old fashioned lamps on, hundreds of sweating gorgeous hunks (90% gay) and 70s/80s/90s pop tunes. Mind you, in my single days I managed to pull in the club on every vrsit. So, a good time can be had by all. To end this perfect night out, head back to Compton Street and go to one of the coffee shops which stay open until 4/Sam-ish. Order a cappuccmo, sit outside under one of the heat lamps, and watch the trannies parade up and down: superb entertainment. It’s the busiest part of London at 4am — busier than rush hour — and it's incredible. After a couple of coffees, wander down to Balans (very trendy bar that stays open all night) and enjoy breakfast. Then yOu’re all set to catch the train home about around 7am. (Lynn Miller)

Stanley Spencer‘s The Resurrection: Port Glasgoii'. next to Andy Warhol‘s Marilyn. followed by Richard Hamilton's The State. The Citizen and The Subject. makes for evocative and moving combinations.
Tate Modern is enormous and entry to the permanent exhibits is free. so if strapped for cash and time. ditch the Dome and spend a fulfilling and inspiring day people-watching and soaking tip some real culture.
In the end. this is London after all. and nothing stays the same for long. This time next year the Dome will be a distant bad dream. Tate Modern will have lost its sheen. and the liye. passe. But then again. its transience and willingness to adopt change is what we love most about this vibrant. metamorphosing capnaL
