Apex They came, they took their tops off and they danced like apes. Yes, it‘s the last night of hardhouse, acid, trance and techno club Apex. Give thanks to the residents Steve Pace, Al Space, Phil Zero, Julz, Kam The Bearded Mullet and Neil T and take the club out in sweaty style. Studio 24, Fri 22 Sep.

Boombox Back by popular demand, US West Coast house jock, Mark Farina, makes a comparatively rare Edinburgh appearance tonight. Famed for his Mushroom Jazz mix CDs and high-profile antics with Derrick Carter, this will be another quality night of jackin’ house from the big 'ole Boombox. The Venue (downstairs), Sat 23 Sep.

Eye Candy Celebrating its first birthday with a flamboyant fancy dress ball, the glam house night really does want its loyal following to go all out on their costumes tonight, so start shopping now. C/ub Mercado, Sat 30 Sep.

Nature The hard-working boys at Nature are really going to have to pack them in like sardines because The Attic is not so terribly large and the number of folk wanting to see Two Lone Swordsmen unfortunately is. Do the sums if you can be arsed or arrive early to avoid tears. The Attic, Fri 22 Sep.

Radio Babylon The Merry Pranksters, Brainstorm and Penny Pornstar (pictured) go all counter-culture this month as they host the 'Kool Aid Acid Test'. This could involve copious amounts of mind-altering chemicals or rather, as we suspect is more likely the case, cutting-edge electrofunk and breaks for the kids. La Belle Ange/e, Fri 22 Sep.

Ultragroove The residents Gareth Somerville, Colin Cook and Mikey Stirton collectively bow down to their superstar guest, Joey Negro, tonight. Famed for cutting up old disco tracks under a multitude of pseudonyms, Negro’s got the goods and no mistake. La Belle Ange/e, Sat 30 Sep. Tackno Miss those foam parties? Wish Scotland could be more like the Balearic Isles? Well, tonight it can thanks to Trendy Wendy and the pumped-up party spirit of her Ibiza Tackno. C/ub Mercado, Sun 24 Sep.
