Scottish Opera present the first part of Wagner‘s monumental Ring Cycle, with parts two—four to follow over the next three years. Set in a land of Gods, dwarves, giants and water maidens, Rheingold is a fantastical tale of greed and power, brought to the stage in spectacular style by director Tim Albery. I An Evening With George and Ira Gershwin Pollok House, Pollok Country Park. 2060 Pollokshaws Road, 616 6410. 7.30pm. £10 (£8). Soprano, baritone and piano quintet, Cameo present this fun night of music and words part of the ‘Summer Evening Concerts’ series. Dressed in appropriate garb, the group will deliver some of the American songwriting duo’s finest works, interspersed with witticisms from Scott Fitzgerald, Ogden Nash and the deliciously wicked Dorothy Parker.
